Top 10 Things to Know for Mission Day

  1. Dress: business attire. Photo ID is recommended. Please bring if you have it.
  2. You will need to go through metal detectors in Washington. Pack light.
  3. There is no place to put personal belongings or bags at the Mellon Auditorium. You may leave belongings on the bus, at your own risk.
  4. Your friend's NORPAC Mission emails may be ending up in their junk mail, spam, or bulk mail folder. Please remind them to check there if they think they did not receive our email. If they still did not receive it, they can contact feldmanr@norpac.net.
  5. Check your email at the end of the work day Monday and Tuesday for any last-minute changes, as many Congressional offices will be changing appointment times.
  6. Bring your cell phone Wednesday and check it between meetings in case Mission Control contacted you with an update in any part of your schedule.
  7. See http://www.norpac.net/events/mission.htm for the Talking Points, Mission Handbook, a map of the DC morning and afternoon meeting location (Andrew Mellon Auditorium 1301 Constitution Ave NW Washington, DC, meet at 10:30AM and 4:30PM), voting records, and background articles on Iran and the Palestinians. If you have been to the webpage recently, hit the "refresh" button in your browser so you can view any updates.

  8. Your group leader will be contacting you to discuss who will present which talking points at your Congressional meetings. (If you do not hear from your group leader on Monday, call them.)
  9. If you need transportation to your bus location, work this out with your group or a friend ahead of time. NORPAC will not arrange carpools for you to get to and from your round-trip DC buses, and the buses must leave on time with or without you.
  10. Show up to your appointments on time! If you are running late with one meeting or have two meetings scheduled at about the same time, split up your group so that part of the group will be on time to your next meeting. Allow at least 30 minutes to get to a building and through security. Immediately contact Mission Control 201-788-5133 if you think you’ll be late for a meeting because of an emergency.
